Swellnet For Lifeline Classic And Board Sale 2022 | Swellnet Dispatch | Swellnet

It's that time of year again where Swellnet competes in the Lifeline Classic, raising money for Lifeline Northern Beaches.

The event is booked in at Queenscliff for Sunday the 18th of September, but the main fundraiser event - the secondhand board yard sale - will be run a fortnight before, this Sunday the 4th of September. See below for details.

Our team for the Classic will be the same as last year with Nick Denington, Mark New, Josh Button, and myself - Craig -  surfing for Swellnet.

We'll be trying to raise at least $3,000 before the event, so click here to start donating. Any amount helps and is much appreciated.

Our annual secondhand board yard sale will be at Freshwater again, on the grass hill between Pilu and cafe Shaka, just off Moore Rd. It's a great community event and chance to grab a bargain or sell boards you don't surf any more.

The yard sale day works like this:

So pencil in Sunday, the 4th of September - that's Father's Day - and grab a bargain for yourself or your dad.

Click here to donate if you can't make the day.

So it’s a surfing comp as well?

Yep, each team has a fundraising target and if not met you get docked points in your heat for every $100 under. So there's an incentive to get as much as you can.

The comp is tag team, exactly like Surf Tag. 2x waves each in 45mins and the second wave is worth twice as much.

I never do well in these as I'm more catch lots of waves in a period of time surfer rather than pick off two good ones in 10 minutes. Lots of pressure ;p

Epic! I bought a shirt the other day

How good are they, and by the best. Benny Brown, Kentaro Yoshida and Brent Smith.

Huge thanx to #1 swellnet frontline crew & lifeline for rescuing tbb many times over.

#1swellnet lifeline frontline has proved essential to tbb's wellbeing. Anytime day or night their lines are open! The fact that they are, promotes trust & confidence.

Mental Health Outpatients such as tbb are grateful for 8-5 Telehealth Shrink's 15min Chat. Many here will know Mental Health Episodes prefer after hours when telehealth & medicare sleeps. Not advising to steer clear of Emergency assist...but to expand yer options in crisis mode. Recently tbb drove madly to the Emergency during an Anxiety Attack...Downright dangerous! Deep thought Therapy / Preaching / Classes / Arguments > All storm off in a hurry & no law against it! Crisis response (vs) A troubled mind is a recipe for disaster under pressure.

Back to base level... #1swellnet offers an open canvas to calm the troubled mind and supportive crew respond in kind! tbb has suffered enough to be healed many times over by kind thoughtful swellnet crew! Salute! Good Health to all the crew in return.

#1swellnet also steps up ... way up high ... to continually support Frontline 24hr Mental Health. tbb very much values the crew's contribution and relies heavily on this Frontline Health Service! Sure! Why not...tbb donates here & a few times thru the year via phoneline or instore Lifeline. Equally tbb donates to Hospital Foundations & interstate Health services & all are as thankful as Ben.

Why is it important to donate...firstly! tbb is not poor...nor well off & thankful for disability support. Well! These Frontline services are not included in Oz / State health Budgets but go the extra yards.

tbb can wake in terror thinking it's time to go...so much pain & exhaustion must end sooner than later! #1 Crew mate backs up #1 swellnet ramping #1 Lifeline into Rescue mode & saves tbb as if by magic! Yes! This is true & exactly how we sufferers see it & thank each & everyone who plays a role to save us! This is tbb's way of thanking each here & now for your vital support in tbb's rescue/s.

You see! A call to lifeline is an Emergency & in best time a Rescuer is there as your hero. These Heroes are not bound by 9-5 nor 15 min chat...Midnite - Mid Morning they will ride out yer storm! Whatever it takes...15>20 or 25>30 or 35>40 mins > for tbb's rescue > Sure! Longer if needed...Not shy!

There is a massive injustice portraying Lifeline's role as a supportive / back up Mental health unit! #1swellnet / Lifeline is an essential Frontline Mental Health Unit that plays a vital role in saving lives. Rest assured if Crew, family or friends need rescuing these guys can do that...but we must back them. tbb salutes #1swellnet for stepping up to tackle Mental Health in our hour of need... Healers they are! Healers we all can be... Crew can & do make a difference in saving lives and we do thank each & every one of you! Our heroes!

Thanks so much TBB and Zen! Really appreciate it.

Crew thanks Craig for the mighty effort & keeping it real. zenagain possesses very powerful magic that raises spirits...

tbb is cured and just finished transversing zenagain's healing powers into a signature tune! Yes, we can do that for a special cause...spreading the love around!

Hothouse Flowers - Don't Go!

The board sale is on this Sunday, rain, hail or shine.

Ben's Tunesmiths officially dedicated 2022 swellnet Lifeline Classic Soundtrack This is the crew's way of saying thanx for sharing the stoke. tbb is a Grun groupie & loves this LP...keeps sounding better with each listen...big fan

Have a great weekend Craig & thanx for the official soundtrack Ben! Care pack is in the Mail > Can Lock in 10% Start Up! Guaranteed! https://www.swellnet.com/comment/855012#comment-855012
